Ramsey, Cambridgeshire

This is the first wind turbine erected by Abbey in 1993. It was put in place to provide electricity for Abbey’s former Cold Storage facility which was located on the same site. Planning consent has recently been gained to replace this turbine with a new 80m hub height turbine which is due to be erected in June 2008.

Whittlesey

Abbey recently gained a planning consent for a new 80m high wind turbine to go on their headquarters site in Whittlesey, Peterborough. This will be in place in early June 2008.

Requirements

Abbey are continually looking for new sites for the development of wind turbines and other forms of renewable energy. We will look to either purchase suitable sites or work an option agreement with a land owner. Ideal locations are within East Anglia or Northern Scotland where the majority of our renewable work is carried out.
